Please join us for an exclusive screening of a documentary about the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund, including a Q&A with its director.
The Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund (NBIM), worth approx. $1 trillion, was built largely on Norway's revenue from the oil industry. The aim of the so-called oil fund is to ensure responsible and long-term management of revenue from Norway’s oil and gas resources in the North Sea so that this wealth benefits both current and future generations. The fund’s formal name is the Government Pension Fund Global.
The makers of this documentary were allowed to follow several individuals from NBIM, a fund that invests with a generational perspective. This investment style is contrasted with short-term focused investors and high-speed traders. Concurrently, the film addresses how climate change, unequal access to resources and wealth gaps are straining society, as these are factors that also need to be considered by all investors.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A featuring the film's director, Fredrik Akselsen.
